There are many reasons for dental extractions. A decayed or infected tooth is the most common reason for a dental extraction. Extractions are also performed on impacted or troublesome wisdom teeth and sometimes permanent teeth for orthodontic treatment.

We will need to establish what type of extraction is needed. Extractions are usually categorized as either "simple" or "surgical". Simple extractions are done on visible teeth and surgical extractions are done on teeth that haven't entirely erupted or that have broken below the gums.

Once the tooth has been extracted, we can discuss what will be done to replace the tooth. There are several options to replace missing teeth with all of the advances in dentistry.
